Our mind truly is a very powerful tool and if not used correctly, it mind can get us into trouble. What do I mean by this? Well, the word says, “as a man thinketh, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Our thoughts are where our future actions are born. They determine what we believe, what we say and what we do….good and bad. The only way to have most of our thoughts, words and actions be good rather than bad depends on how strong our relationship is with the one who we so often thank for, “keeping us in our right frame of mind”.
God’s voice through the Holy Spirit, is the voice of faith, vision, purpose, love and protection. From that voice, we can think in faith, have a vision, live on purpose, act in love and feel protected.
However, there is another voice that resides in our mind. It seeks to dominate that space to control our thoughts, words and actions. It can be just as strong as God’s voice, IF we allow it. Now, when we allow it, because we do from time to time…that other voice injects doubt, fear, insecurities, anxiety, helplessness, and defeat. We in turn are not confident, we fear all things, we feel inadequate, we are anxious, we feel vulnerable and we give up.
But, my friends, as I too continue to struggle with these two voices (in a major way), we must remind ourselves that we are able to determine what voice speaks the loudest and what voice should be placed on mute. Turn the volume up on God’s voice reminding you that you are more than a conqueror. Turn the volume up on God’s voice reminding you that with Him ALL things are possible. Turn the volume up on God’s voice reminding you that you are the head and not the tail. Turn the volume up on God’s voice reminding you that even in your darkest hour, you are never alone. Turn the volume up on God’s voice reminding you that you are protected and loved, even if your mother and father foresake you (Psalm 27:10).
Don’t let the other voice make you feel that you are not great, not beautiful, not good enough, and not qualified. Instead of giving that voice a front row seat in your mind, give it the back door and than LOCK IT SHUT! The voice we should give VIP access to is that says you are beautifully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
#joinme today in speaking life more than we speak death. Lets drown out any voice that disqualifies what God says.
Walk in faith; live in love.
